Parish Council
The Parish Council is the back bone of the Parish whose members become the close associates of the Parish Priest in the administration of the Parish. It has its general Body comprising of all the elected representatives from all the Anbiams and the Governing Body, the members elected by the General Body. The executive body meets regularly, and the General body whenever decisions are to be approved and executed at the Parish level. It has its small funds to support the poor children apart from the Parish funds that are spent at the discretion of the Parish Priests and in consultation with the Parish Council. A separate body to manage the finance is being formed and soon it will have its roles and responsibilities clarified and put into practice. In any case all the important projects are decided in the democratically formed committees and there is always the accountability and credibility as formed as culture of administering the Parish.
Anbiams( Basic Christian communities)
The Basic Christian Communities are calleb ‘Anbiams’ in Tamil language which means ‘Families living with Love’. The whole Parish is divided into 31 Anbiams( BCC) each one with 25 to 30 families and it is the source of strength for its pastoral and social activities. Each one has its President and secretary who manage to conduct its monthly gatherings regularly in which all issues related to social and pastoral are discussed, arrive at decisions and work together for their overall development. They have the clear vision, the mandate and strategic events by which the qualities of their lives are enhanced. The leaders are trained to update their knowledge and skills at regular intervals.
