The New
Parish Council before launching into action, made their promise during the
Sunday Liturgy on Sunday 3rd August 2014 and they will remain in
office for another three years. The parish council would include 62
representatives from 31 Anbiams or Basic Christian Communities (BCC), 10
members elected from Pious associations, mandram and Kolping, and 10 members
nominated by the Parish Priest. The total members would form the General body
11 members will form the Governing body that would include the President, Vice
President, Secretary, Joint Secretary, Treasurer, and 6 other members elected
by Anbiam representatives. While the General Body would meet almost once in a
month the Governing Body would meet when there are issues to be sorted out and
when matters arise to place them before the General Body. Both the forums enjoy
the consultative role and the final decisions are always left with the
President. In order to have a right
view of the responsibility they have undertaken, they need to undergo two days
of closed retreat. There is also provision for having more committees where
even members from the parish would be included and that would facilitate more
participation and quality in all endeavor.
